Recently, the National “863 Project”—“High-Power AT Transmission R&D” project undertaken by China Ordnance Industry Group Inner Mongolia First Machinery Group Co., Ltd. passed the project acceptance of the Ministry of Science and Technology. The successful development of the high-power AT transmission project fills the gap in China's modern transportation technology field, breaking the monopoly of the technology and products that has long been monopolized by foreign companies, and completely solving the high-power automatic transmission for heavy trucks and high-end commercial vehicles in the automotive industry in China. Industrialization is the technological bottleneck of independent research and development. Its high-precision planetary transmission mechanism integrated design, complete machine testing technology and process manufacturing technology has reached the performance level of similar products of the United States, such as Ai Li-Sen , Germany ZF and other international companies.

With the development of the automotive industry, the use of automatic transmissions has become a trend. AT automatic transmission, that is, hydraulic automatic transmission, due to the use of hydraulic torque converter in the starting process, the mechanical transmission part of the planetary transmission structure, with a small size of large transmission power characteristics, and gradually become the first choice for high-end heavy commercial vehicles. However, at present, this technology is still a blank in China.

One aircraft group gave full play to the technological superiority of military enterprises and applied for the national “863 Program” of high-power AT transmissions in the field of transportation technology. Since the project began to be developed in October 2012, after nearly three years of technical research and arduous efforts, it has completed the development of five prototypes in accordance with project requirements. Through a series of integrated innovations such as theoretical research and analysis of key technologies, trial production of components and processes, assembly of prototypes and experimental research, an original breakthrough has been made in theoretical research and engineering development, and a number of technological innovations have been achieved. The first is to create a modular platform infrastructure and break through top-level design and overall integration and innovation to form a theoretical research method and technology system for high-power AT transmissions. The second is the first use of a helical gear planetary transmission and a new type of support structure to realize the partial transmission technology and structural innovation of the planetary transmission. The third is the development of a new generation of intelligent electro-hydraulic shift integrated control system to achieve automatic fault diagnosis. The fourth is to break through the low-cost parts process and manufacturing new technologies. Fifth, the establishment of a good cost-effective AT transmission key components industrial chain supporting supply system. At the same time, in the aspect of independent intellectual property rights, it has applied for 7 patents in related technical fields, and 3 of them have been authorized.
