The School of Engineering at the Polytechnic University has partnered with local enterprises to successfully develop a "portable turbid water purifier," a groundbreaking innovation that will significantly improve drinking water access and field training conditions for our military personnel.
During a recent on-site demonstration, the reporter observed how the device operates. The operator simply placed the compact unit into a container of murky water, and within minutes, clear, purified water flowed out from the outlet. The entire process was quick, efficient, and user-friendly, with the purified water ready for immediate consumption without any additional treatment.
According to the experts involved in the project, the purifier weighs only 22 kilograms and is capable of removing a wide range of contaminants, including silt, sand, heavy metals, organic compounds, and bacteria from highly turbid water. It can produce up to 150 liters of clean drinking water per hour. Moreover, when equipped with a desalination module, it can also purify seawater, making it an extremely versatile tool.
