On August 17, the Shenyang Blower Group and General Electric (GE) Oil & Gas Group signed a cooperation memorandum in Shenyang. The two companies will jointly participate in the production and bidding process for compressor units in China's petrochemical ethylene project. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in strengthening Sino-US industrial ties and enhancing technical capabilities in the energy sector.
Shenyang Blower Group, China's first professional manufacturer of fan and compressor equipment, is now the country's largest general machinery production base. Since its establishment, the company has consistently focused on innovation and technology transfer. In 1976, it received recognition for mastering advanced centrifugal technology from Italy’s Pilon company. GE, a global leader in oil and gas equipment, later acquired Pilon and continued its partnership with Shenyang Blower Group.
Building upon the knowledge gained from GE’s centrifugal compressor technology, Shenyang Blower Group has successfully applied this expertise to key national projects such as large-scale oil refining, chemical fertilizers, ethylene production, air separation, coal chemical processing, and long-distance pipeline systems. Their locally produced equipment has provided cutting-edge solutions to major domestic petrochemical enterprises, including one-million-ton ethylene plants and ten-million-ton oil refining facilities.
According to recent reports, Shenyang Blower Group holds more than 80% market share in critical equipment such as centrifugal compressors, oil pipeline pumps, hydrogenation pumps, defoaming pumps, and reciprocating compressors. This strong presence underscores the company’s vital role in supporting China’s energy infrastructure and its growing influence in the global industrial landscape.
