On August 17, the Shenyang Blower Group and General Electric’s (GE) Oil & Gas Division signed a cooperation memorandum in Shenyang. The collaboration aims to jointly participate in the production and bidding process for compressor units in China’s ethylene projects. This partnership is expected to strengthen both companies’ presence in the energy and petrochemical sectors, combining GE’s global technological expertise with Shenyang Blower’s local manufacturing capabilities.
Shenyang Blower Group, China’s first professional manufacturer of fan and compressor systems, has grown into the country's largest general machinery production base. Since its establishment, the company has consistently pushed the boundaries of industrial technology. In 1976, it was awarded the most advanced centrifugal technology by the Italian company Pilon, marking a significant milestone in its development.
GE, a global leader in oil and gas equipment, has a long history of innovation and technical excellence. It acquired the Billund company and has since maintained strong partnerships across the industry. Building on the knowledge gained from GE’s centrifugal compressor design and manufacturing technologies, Shenyang Blower has successfully applied these advancements in critical national projects, including large-scale oil refining, chemical fertilizer production, ethylene plants, air separation, coal chemical processing, and long-distance pipeline systems.
The company has played a vital role in localizing key equipment, providing cutting-edge technology to major domestic petrochemical enterprises such as one-million-ton ethylene plants and ten-million-ton oil refineries. This not only supports China’s energy security but also enhances the competitiveness of its industrial infrastructure.
According to recent reports, Shenyang Blower’s market share for major equipment like centrifugal compressors, oil pipeline pumps, hydrogenation pumps, defoaming pumps, and reciprocating compressors exceeds 80% in the domestic market. This strong position highlights the company’s reliability, technological leadership, and deep understanding of the needs of China’s energy and industrial sectors.
