In northern cities, the cost of heating can reach around 35 yuan per square meter, which is quite expensive. Despite the emergence of various new heating products, most still fall short in performance. However, the electromagnetic heat pump developed by Professor Zhang Zhihua has captured attention from many. His invention has not only gained recognition from coal companies but also represents a major breakthrough for Daqing’s local government. The idea of a massive boiler room being replaced by a compact, home-like appliance is truly remarkable. Professor Zhang Zhihua, now over 60 years old, graduated from Shenyang Institute of Technology in 1966 and has spent decades researching physics, particularly in the field of electromagnetism. In 1997, he developed a rare earth permanent magnet multi-ring synchronous motor, which led to the creation of a plate (slice) seal pump, earning him a national patent. This innovation was called a "pump revolution" due to its groundbreaking design. In 1999, his electromagnetic heat pump received national recognition as an innovative product and was granted an invention patent. It was named the "environmentally friendly electromagnetic heating pump," marking a significant milestone in heating technology. This electromagnetic heat pump technology is considered one of the most advanced in the industry. It works by using a flat annular rotor combined with a pump impeller, eliminating the need for traditional mechanical parts. This design prevents leaks and ensures a safer, more efficient operation. When powered, the stator coil generates a rotating magnetic field that induces movement in the rotor, allowing the system to operate smoothly without noise. The electromagnetic heating equipment, based on this technology, eliminates the need for combustion-based boilers, reducing pollution and saving on transportation and storage of fuels. It achieves a thermal efficiency of up to 100%, with a pump efficiency exceeding 130%. During an exhibition, reporters observed that regardless of whether it was two-phase or three-phase power, the device started working instantly, heating radiators quickly and efficiently. Beyond household use, this technology can support various pumps for oil, gas, air conditioning, and industrial applications. It is especially useful in the petrochemical industry. Experts suggest that this form of heating is healthier than traditional methods, offering clean, comfortable, and safe warmth through low-temperature radiation. Daqing’s local government tested the technology in the Wanbao district, where indoor temperatures reached about 18–19°C during winter, with heating costs at just 23 yuan per square meter. This makes it a practical and economical choice for homes, businesses, hospitals, and schools. With its efficiency, convenience, and eco-friendliness, it's no wonder this technology is gaining popularity across the region.
