Shandong CNOOC signs cooperation agreement

On January 2, a signing ceremony for a strategic cooperation framework agreement between the Shandong Provincial Government and China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) took place in Jinan. This landmark event marks a significant step forward in deepening collaboration between the provincial government and one of China's leading energy companies. Under the agreement, Shandong will work closely with CNOOC to integrate local oil refining enterprises, port terminals, oil and gas pipeline networks, urban gas systems, and refined oil distribution networks. The partnership aims to enhance efficiency, optimize resource allocation, and strengthen the overall energy infrastructure in the region. As part of the cooperation, CNOOC Refining and Chemical Company has announced plans to invest in a range of key projects. Specifically, it will develop crude oil and refined oil storage facilities, as well as a logistics park within the Dongying Port Economic Development Zone. Additionally, the company intends to establish a 30-square-kilometer industrial park in the Lingang Industrial Zone of Dongying Port. This new industrial hub is expected to serve as a comprehensive base for crude oil and refined oil storage, integrated refining and chemical production, fine chemical development, and professional services and offshore engineering support. The initiative aligns with broader efforts to boost regional economic growth and promote sustainable energy development. By leveraging CNOOC’s expertise and Shandong’s strategic location, the collaboration is anticipated to drive innovation, create jobs, and enhance the competitiveness of the energy sector in the Bohai Bay area. This partnership underscores the growing importance of public-private cooperation in shaping China’s energy future.
