"We will continue to seek new ways to ensure that all vehicles can be equipped with advanced safety equipment. Our second-generation scalable ACU will provide suitable for emerging-market car manufacturers," said Ed Carpenter, vice president of the electronic business unit of TRW Group. Advanced safety equipment for vehicles. In addition, we can build Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) in the second-generation ACU to detect yaw in vehicles.”

The standard ACU is usually equipped with 1 to 4 squibs, no satellite interface, but it is scalable with flexibility during use. The upgraded ACU can support up to 12 pilots and four satellite interfaces, providing effective frontal and side impact protection for the occupants to meet the additional safety function requirements of the European and North American markets.

There is also an upgraded version of the ACU that can be configured with at least eight squibs, further reducing engineering costs and design complexity, providing automotive manufacturers with greater flexibility and competitiveness.
