Taiwan Rubber Purchases Dexco Polymers for $168 Million

According to Dow Jones News, TSRC Co. (2103.TW, referred to as "Taiwan Rubber") said in a notice to the Taiwan Stock Exchange last Friday that it will acquire Dexco Polymers Operating Company LLC for US$168 million. And Dexco Polymers LP.
In another announcement released on Friday, the company said that the deal will help the company upgrade its technology, provide customers with more diversified options, and form a diversified customer base across Asia, Europe and the Americas. The company also stated that the acquisition agreement still needs the approval of the regulatory authorities of the United States and Taiwan, and the scheduled date of completion of the transaction is the beginning of the second quarter of 2011.
Taiwan Rubber manufactures mainly synthetic rubber for the production of automotive tires, as well as special-grade thermoplastic elastomers for the production of adhesives, industrial compounds and shoes.
Dexco Polymers LP is an affiliate of Dow Chemical Co. (DOW) and ExxonMobil Chemical, producing SBS and SIS rubber products.
