Shell Lubricants Ranks Global Chief Supplier

According to the latest survey conducted by Klein Company, a global consulting and investigation company, on the lubricant market, Shell ranks first in the world's lubricant supplier rankings. Shell accounted for 13% of global lubricant sales in 2007, which was two points ahead of its closest competitor.

David Piritt, Executive Vice President of Shell Lubricants, said: “We have not only maintained our leading position in the market for two consecutive years, but also expanded the distance between us and our second-ranked competitor. We provide our customers with uniqueness and uniqueness. Our products are our persistent strategy and we are benefiting from this strategy.” He attributed the success of Shell Lubricants to the best lubricant technology and product portfolio as well as a deep understanding of customer needs.

In 2007, Shell's business in emerging Asia Pacific markets achieved strong growth. The Asia-Pacific region has surpassed North America as the world's largest lubricant consumption area. The annual growth rate of Shell Lubricants sales in China is 20%, 14% in Indonesia and 8% in India.

Shell also succeeded in the more mature Western European market and the world’s largest lubricant market. In Western Europe, despite the overall decline in demand for the lubricants market, Shell has achieved sustained declining market growth. In the United States, Shell Lubricants continues to occupy a leading position, its sales accounted for 12% of the total market.

Looking ahead, Kline believes that in terms of market demand, Asia will be the engine of future growth, while Western Europe will experience declining demand and North America will see growth stagnation. From a product point of view, sales of synthetic and semi-synthetic lubricants are expected to increase. This class of products can help consumers to extend the life of their equipment while improving fuel economy.
