How to make up for lack of development of SMEs

SMEs play an increasingly important role in ensuring a moderate growth of the national economy, alleviating employment pressure, optimizing economic structure, and are more strategic to the entire national economy. However, the problems facing the development of SMEs are still serious. In particular, the small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in the instrumentation industry not only have causes such as small-scale enterprises, weak market forces, lack of financing channels, insufficient talent pools, and lack of information resources, but also have extensive growth modes and similar product structures. It is not outstanding, the competitiveness is not strong, the important issues of operating in accordance with the law, weak awareness of honesty and trustworthiness, etc.

Although the instrumentation industry usher in good opportunities, but the existence of these problems has also restricted the development of the majority of instrumentation and small and medium enterprises. How to make up for the lack of SMEs in instrumentation has also become a matter of concern to the government. In June, the "Shenzhen Instrumentation and Automation Industry Salon Conference" was held. The Shenzhen Municipal Government has launched a series of supporting policies for small and medium-sized enterprises, such as talent training, enterprise bases, and GEM, which have won wide acclaim in the industry. But at the same time, our industry should also work hard from its own instrumentation industry cluster.

First, improve the overall level of industrial clusters in the instrumentation industry. The process of formation and development of foreign industrial clusters shows that SMEs are the main body of industrial clusters. China's instrumentation industry has formed a distinctive industrial belt in most areas, such as the well-known flow instrument industry with Chengde, Kaifeng, home appliances, Jinhu, Tianchang. While small and medium-sized enterprises account for the vast majority, regional economies of scale formed by the clustering effect, so supporting industrial clusters dominated by small and medium enterprises will be more efficient than small and medium-sized enterprises.

Second, increase the number of companies that are beneficial to the upstream and downstream companies and reduce costs. The development of small and medium-sized enterprises is often constrained by costs, and their industrial clusters have developed to a certain extent. The professional division of labor and cooperation system in the industry has become increasingly perfect, and the industry has obvious cost advantages. For example, to increase the supply of instrumentation and electronic components, instrumentation, complete measurement and calibration services, formed an upstream and downstream convergence instrumentation industry chain, to provide further possibilities to reduce costs.

Third, improve the regional brand effect. Industrial clusters have established the advantages of building regional brands. On the other hand, those enterprises in the region that already have a certain scale, strength, and brand can use their own brand influence to enhance the effect of regional brands. Therefore, the brand effect of a region is more visual, direct, and more influential because it is the aggregation and refinement of many corporate brands. The government should strengthen the guidance, supervision, and publicity of the regional instrumentation industry belt, so that the SMEs where they are located can benefit from the industrial cluster rather than vicious competition.
