China's auto parts industry should be alert to the recession

Not long ago, Chen Guangzu, a member of the China Automobile Industry Advisory Committee, said: "The overall competitiveness of China's auto parts companies has been declining."

The development history of China's auto industry shows that its development cannot be separated from the strong support of the parts and components industry. Today, China has become a world leader in automobile production. As an expert in the auto parts industry, why does Chen Guangzu have this view?

Chen Guangzu believes that "lagging behind" is a major obstacle to the development of China's auto parts industry. The reason for "lagging behind" is that the idea of "heavy lighter components and parts" has always existed in the automotive industry in China, affecting the development of the parts industry. He said: "To engage in a car is well-known and beneficial, and there are no known or profitable parts. This is a historical root. It is still difficult to say that this problem has been solved." In addition, the rapid progress in the international automotive industry has made the country lag behind. The gap between the parts and components industry and the international level has increased, which can be described as a step that cannot keep up. "This 'lagging behind' performance in the high-end product market is particularly evident." He further stressed.

It is undeniable that in recent years, the domestic auto parts industry has made great progress. Chen Guangzu said: “A small number of companies have made amazing progress in the globalization process, which must be fully affirmed, but this does not fundamentally change the 'lagging nature' of the domestic auto parts industry. We must strive to develop high-end products. , highlight information products, enhance innovation and R & D capabilities, otherwise, China's auto parts industry will experience a decline in strength, international competitiveness will continue to decline, which will threaten the development prospects of the entire auto parts industry, while China's traditional products The competitive advantage is also difficult to maintain for a long time."

Chen Guangzu believes that the outstanding performance of China's auto parts industry "lagging behind" is that the integration of the automotive industry and the information industry is not enough, and the portal is too deep. He said: "From the point of view of the development of the global automotive industry, information technology has penetrated widely. The integration of the automobile industry and the information industry has caused profound changes in the automotive industry chain. The Chinese automobile industry lags behind in this respect."

He told reporters that the state is very supportive in this regard and has organized related departments on several occasions, inviting many experts including academicians of the two academies to discuss the integration of the automotive industry and the information industry, but so far there has been no substantive the result of. He believes that relevant parties should change their thinking as soon as possible. The integration of the automobile industry and the information industry is not the integration of who, but an interactive transmission of the spirit of the Internet; at present, China’s two major industry portals still have a lot of opinions and become ideologically impeding integration. With a regressive force, we must make up our minds and constantly unplug all kinds of fences to create more favorable factors for integration.

The vast majority of MCUs assembled in Korean cars are supplied by South Korea's Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. The level of advancement of the Korean automotive industry is evident. The chairman of the company, Yun Jong-Yong, said: "In the digital era, companies that have fallen behind others for two months means that they are outdated, and it is impossible to win in market competition." Compared with the international level, China's auto parts industry actually lags behind ? Chen Guangzu used facts to say: "All the MCUs assembled in China's automobiles are imported, and because MCU performance is getting higher and higher, we must bundle design. You must tell the other party to the data before you can carry out collaborative design. If your output is low, some Multinational MCU companies will raise prices, which poses no small threat to the innovation of parts and components companies, and not only that, but also the triodes used in domestic automobile generator plants are almost all imported, fearing that the products produced by domestic companies are unreliable and affect quality. The basics of the triodes are all imported, and how big the impact on the further innovation of China's automotive electronics products can be imagined."

In fact, China also has some well-established companies that produce automotive electronic products. However, the vast majority of these companies produce automotive electronic products. There are very few companies that produce car-controlled electronic products. Chen Guangzu told reporters: “The vehicle-mounted electronic control products are the dominant part of improving the performance of automobiles, but due to the difficulty, the development speed in our country is very slow. China is now able to produce automotive electronic products such as ABS, which can be used on self-owned brand cars. We are also studying the development of ESP (Electronic Stability System) in the international arena, but it will take quite a long time to really apply it to automobiles. The main reason is that ESP has a relatively large degree of relevance to some of the automotive design procedures. With the collaborative design of the organization, vehicle manufacturers have doubts and increased the difficulty of ESP development."

In the information age, product updates are very fast. China's auto parts companies must constantly innovate in order to improve their competitiveness. Chen Guangzu said: "The domestic auto parts companies have not done this. For example, the common rail technology of small diesel engines requires reasonable control of the high-speed operation of automobiles. Before, we used springs to use electromagnetic valves after the advent of common rail technology. The third-generation common-rail technology uses piezoelectric ceramics, and some domestic factories are also trial-producing, but they have to import because of their unsatisfactory performance. At present, nano-scale piezoelectric ceramics are being developed internationally, which may greatly compress the volume and pump channels. Whether domestic companies can keep up is a big problem."

In the existing high-end products, China has a big gap with the international level, and the development of new types of parts and components in the future is even blank or stays in academic discussions. At present, Delphi, Siemens, and Sweden SKF have developed wire drive products to replace steering gear and other products. This kind of product is actually applying a principle of electromagnetic rheological technology, replacing the mechanical transmission with the aggregation and freezing degree of the particles in the liquid, completely changing the vehicle control mode. Chen Guangzu told reporters: “I have seen some papers introduced the research in this area three years ago. However, the research has been applied to the research, the application has been applied, the combination of production, teaching and research, and the funding and technical support from the national or local governments have failed to predict the progress ."

Today, some companies have realized that there is a gap and spend heavily on R&D equipment and software. This is an improvement, but the problem still exists. Chen Guangzu said: “The domestic enterprises have a big gap with the international level in the application of computers and software, especially in the engineering analysis capabilities of product design. This design and innovation method, the one-time success rate of product development, product The R&D cycle, database construction, and cost reduction have a great impact."
