ABB receives Canadian substation supply order

According to reports, power and automation technology company ABB received an important substation order from Hydro One Networks of Canada.
It is understood that the equipment to be provided in this agreement includes: indoor air-insulated switch substation, outdoor air-insulated switch substation and related transmission infrastructure.
The new substation will replace the existing aging unit, which will serve Toronto, Canada's largest city. And connect the existing Portland Energy Center power station to improve the reliability of the grid.
It is expected that the project will be completed in 2013 and the contract value has not been disclosed.
Hydro One Networks holds and operates a 96% stake in the Ontario Power Transmission Network.
According to ABB, the company received a $250 million order from Saudi Power to build a new substation and update its existing substation.
