China's automotive industry is making a strong push into the global market, backed by supportive national policies that have given it a "strong voice" on the international stage. On the 18th, the Ministry of Commerce and the National Development and Reform Commission announced the first batch of national auto and auto parts export bases and base enterprises. This initiative marks a significant step forward in promoting the export of Chinese automotive components and vehicles worldwide.
A total of 160 companies have been recognized as "National Auto and Auto Parts Export Base Enterprises." Among them, 44 are auto export companies, including well-known names such as FAW, Geely, Chery, and Dongfeng. The remaining 116 are auto parts exporters, including companies like Wanxiang Electronics and Motorola Electronics. Notably, 61 of these enterprises are foreign-funded, highlighting the growing international interest in China's automotive supply chain.
In addition to the companies, eight cities across China have been designated as National Automobile and Components Export Bases. These include major industrial hubs such as Shanghai, Changchun, Tianjin, Wuhan, Chongqing, Xiamen, Wuhu, and Taizhou. This designation is expected to further boost local production capabilities and support the expansion of Chinese automotive exports.
The move reflects the government's commitment to enhancing the competitiveness of domestic automakers and their suppliers in the global market. With increased support and infrastructure development, China is positioning itself as a key player in the international automotive industry. As more companies join this initiative, the country is likely to see a surge in exports, contributing to both economic growth and technological advancement in the sector.
