China's automotive industry is making a strong push into the international market, backed by supportive national policies that have given it a "strong voice" on the global stage. On the 18th, the Ministry of Commerce and the National Development and Reform Commission announced the first batch of national auto and auto parts export bases and base enterprises, signaling a major step forward in promoting Chinese auto components and vehicles overseas.
A total of 160 companies have been recognized as "National Auto and Auto Parts Export Base Enterprises." Among them, 44 are auto export companies, including well-known names like FAW, Geely, Chery, and Dongfeng. The remaining 116 are auto parts exporters, such as Wanxiang Electronics and Motorola Electronics. Notably, this list includes 61 foreign-invested enterprises, highlighting the growing international collaboration within China's automotive sector.
In addition to the companies, eight cities have also been designated as National Auto and Components Export Bases. These cities include Shanghai, Changchun, Tianjin, Wuhan, Chongqing, Xiamen, Wuhu, and Taizhou. This designation is expected to further boost local manufacturing capabilities and support the expansion of Chinese auto exports globally.
The move reflects the government's commitment to strengthening the competitiveness of the domestic automotive industry and positioning China as a key player in the global auto supply chain. With increased support for both vehicle manufacturers and component suppliers, the country is well on its way to achieving greater influence in the international market.
