According to reports, Hankook Tire's Chongqing plant occupies an area of ​​about 800 acres, and the total investment of the plant reaches 950 million U.S. dollars. The first phase of the plant has already achieved trial production, and it is expected that by the year 2013, Hankook Tire’s Chongqing plant will produce 2.5 million tires annually, and in 2014 it will reach 6.3 million. In 2015, after the completion of the project, the annual production of tires will reach 11.5 million.
It is reported that the first phase of production of tires in the Chongqing plant is mainly to supply passenger cars and passenger cars. After the future expansion of production capacity, it will also produce tires for passenger cars. The Chongqing plant is currently the sixth factory of Hankook and the largest factory in China.
