Akesu Natural Gas has accumulated proven reserves of nearly 1 trillion cubic meters

In the Aksu region of Xinjiang, a key source for China's "West-to-East Gas Transmission" project, the cumulative proven natural gas reserves have reached an impressive 974.113 billion cubic meters. This significant reserve ensures that the West-East Gas Pipeline Project, which serves over 200 million people in eastern and central China, will continue to operate with greater stability and abundance. In 2007, the Aksu region saw an increase in its natural gas production capacity by 2.5 billion cubic meters. The designed annual production capacity was set at 20.5 billion cubic meters, while actual output reached 15.4 billion cubic meters, demonstrating steady progress in energy development. Since early 2007, major oil and gas companies such as CNPC Tarim Oilfield Company and Sinopec Northwest Oilfield Company have launched large-scale geophysical exploration activities in the Aksu area. CNPC Tarim focused its efforts on structures like Xiqiu 2, 4, 5, 6, Hade Oilfield, Tubei No. 5, Dabei No. 6, and Keshen 1, 2, 7, and 8. Meanwhile, Sinopec Northwest concentrated on data acquisition in the southern Tianshan block within the Kuqa Depression and the northern Aiding block, aiming to discover new areas to support future growth in reserves and output. According to reports, in 2007, the Tarim Oilfield supplied approximately 13.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas to the West-East Gas Pipeline. Today, this supply reaches more than 80 cities across 12 provinces in northern and eastern China. It not only supports a wide range of downstream industrial enterprises but also plays a vital role in daily life for millions of residents, contributing significantly to regional economic development and energy security.
