In March 2014, Tenneco, a parts supplier, announced that it will supply key emission control technologies for the 2014 Ram heavy-duty diesel truck series, including diesel oxidation catalysts, diesel particulate filters, and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems.
Tenneco's emissions control products will be featured in Ram's line of heavy-duty diesel trucks, which include the 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty diesel pickups, 3500, 4500, and 5500 cab-equipped chassis trucks.
As early as 2010, Tenneco began supplying the SCR aftertreatment system to Ram with a cab chassis truck series. Last year, Chrysler began production of 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty pickup trucks at the Saltillo plant in Mexico. For the first time, Tenneco's SCR technology is installed.
Tenneco's reprocessing components are produced at the Smithville plant in Tennessee, USA, and the Puebla plant in Mexico. The engineering and development business is carried out at the company's Grass Lake Global Emissions Control Technology Center in Michigan.
