Passenger car national standard upgrades to active safety

On October 10, the reporter was informed at a press conference jointly organized by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the National Standards Committee that in order to enhance the safety of commercial vehicles, China has separately adopted the “strength of passenger seats and their fixed parts” and “commercial vehicles and trailers”. The brake system technical requirements and test methods are revised. The new national standard will be implemented on July 1, 2015.

At present, buses produced or used in large quantities in China do not have a fully-loaded steel frame structure, and the overall vehicle structure has low strength. It is not difficult to see from the scene of the bus accident scene that the bus is distorted and disintegrated, making people feel that the bus is fragile and vulnerable. How to turn the passive safety of bus safety into active protection?

Li Weijing, secretary general of the National Automotive Standardization Technical Committee, said: “The survey results of the bus passenger transport operations show that after a passenger car accident, the damage to the passengers in the bus is mainly caused by a secondary collision between the passenger and the front seat or its back attachment. ."

The newly revised "Intensity of Passenger Car Seats and Their Vehicle Mounts" standard requires the bus manufacturer to cancel the static test and carry out dynamic tests on the seat and its fixed parts to meet the corresponding technical requirements. Added dynamic test requirements for restraint baffles installed in front of seats on passenger cars; the scope of this standard extends to all vehicle seats for passenger seats and their seat installation.

“Dynamic test preparation has a large amount of work and high cost. Manufacturers generally only choose to do static tests. But in fact, the dynamic test method can more realistically and comprehensively reflect the strength and safety performance of passenger car seats and their fixed parts, and find and eliminate them. It is not easy to be aware of security risks during static tests," said Li Weijing.

At the conference site, the reporter saw the replay of bus accidents, which showed that some seats were not firmly installed and some large bus seats could slide back and forth. Once a collision occurred, the consequences of death due to compression could easily occur. . On June 3, 2008, 22 people were killed and 3 were injured in a major road traffic accident in Shuozhou, Shanxi Province. Many people lost their lives because of swollen seats and strong neck compression.

The newly revised “Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Commercial Vehicle and Trailer Braking System” alleviates the above-mentioned predicament. The new national standard requires the mandatory installation of ABS system for passenger and cargo vehicles, also called “anti-lock braking system”, which is a kind of anti-slip, Anti-locking and other advantages of the car safety control system. Domestic passenger cars are generally loaded with ABS systems, and mandatory installation of passenger cars is still proposed for the first time.

It is reported that the production and sales volume of Chinese passenger cars ranks first in the world for 13 consecutive years and has accounted for 49% of the world's passenger car market share. As of today, the world’s top 10 passenger car sales companies, China has occupied 4 seats; 10,000 companies have annual sales scale, and China has 6 companies.
