I recently came across some interesting information about the Rockdale Fire Protection District, which is now part of MABAS Division 15. This small but dedicated department covers a three-square-mile area with just one fire station. They maintain an impressive fleet of emergency vehicles, including two engines, a tanker, a squad, a brush truck, and two support vehicles. Their latest addition is a 2008 custom-built Sutphen top-mount engine, complemented by a slightly older 1994 FMC Omega pumper mounted on a Sentinel chassis. The latter is particularly noteworthy because although the cab and chassis were constructed by Spartan, they feature a round-steel design similar to the Spartan RS style. However, this particular unit comes with a unique set of custom trim packages and options that were exclusive to the FMC private label.
