We’re excited to announce that the Rockdale Fire Protection District has recently joined the MABAS Division 15 family. This small but dedicated department covers a three-square-mile area with just one fire station. Their fleet includes two engines, a tanker, a squad unit, a brush truck, and two support vehicles. Among their apparatus, they boast a modern 2008 custom-built Sutphen top-mount engine, complemented by a slightly older 1994 FMC Omega pumper mounted on a Sentinel chassis. While the Spartan-built cab and chassis reflect the classic Spartan RS design—characterized by round steel—the FMC version features a distinct set of custom trim packages and options, making it a unique piece within the FMC private-label lineup.

One of their standout pieces of equipment was on full display during a significant event back in March 2009 when the Rockdale Tanker 2017 responded to the Empress Casino Fire in Joliet alongside multiple other departments.
