On Saturday, June 17th, 2017, I had the chance to attend a great muster where several companies from the Chicago Fire Department were present. It was an incredible experience to see them all gathered in one place, ready for action and perfectly positioned for some amazing photos. As I walked around, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and admiration for these brave firefighters who dedicate their lives to keeping our communities safe.
While I was there, I managed to capture a short video that gives you a quick glimpse into the event. Watching it reminded me of how impressive it is to see such well-trained professionals at work.
One of the highlights of the day was seeing Squad 1, which looked absolutely sharp and ready for anything. The Rosenbauer Commander ACP-55 parked nearby was another standout piece of equipment that caught my attention. Both images were taken by talented photographers, Josh Boyajian and Larry Shapiro, whose attention to detail really shines through.
Another unforgettable moment was seeing Truck 19 parked proudly alongside other vehicles. The way it stood out among the rest was a testament to its functionality and design. And let’s not forget Engine 14, which looked equally impressive with its powerful presence. The image of this vehicle was also captured by Josh Boyajian, who managed to highlight every detail beautifully.
Lastly, the Collapse Unit 522 was another highlight of the day. This specialized unit plays a crucial role in emergency situations, and seeing it up close gave me a deeper appreciation for the kind of work these units do. Larry Shapiro’s photograph does an excellent job of showcasing its strength and purpose.
Overall, this muster was an unforgettable experience, filled with moments that truly highlighted the dedication and professionalism of the Chicago Fire Department. It’s events like these that remind us of the importance of supporting our first responders and the critical roles they play in our society.
