China Drying Network News BASF and Sinopec signed a memorandum of understanding in Shenzhen. Both parties agreed to invest in equal proportions to explore the possibility of building a world-class isononyl alcohol (INA) plant in the Maoming High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Guangdong. The final investment scale will be determined based on the joint feasibility study and is expected to be finalized by the end of 2012.
As the market gradually recognizes the safety of the use of DINP, it is expected that its demand will increase rapidly, thereby promoting the rapid increase in the consumption of isodecyl alcohol. At present, domestic INA production is basically zero, and all of them rely on imports. In 2011, the import volume was 318,600 tons, mainly from Germany and Singapore.
