On Tuesday, Tim Olk found himself spending much of his day stationed in the southbound lanes of the Tri-State Tollway (I294). The Southtown Star reported on the situation:
According to the article, an overturned tanker resulted in the closure of the southbound lanes between 95th and 127th streets. The lanes remained shut down from early afternoon until around 8 p.m., causing significant delays during rush hour.
Illinois State Police Trooper Michelle Kistulinec explained that the incident occurred when a vehicle made an illegal U-turn, causing the tanker to overturn and block all three lanes of traffic at approximately 11:43 a.m. near 127th Street.
