From John Tulipano:
Around 2:45 AM on November 3rd, 2015, the Winfield Fire Protection District received a call about a garage fire on Evans and Harrison streets. When the first responding units arrived, they discovered that a detached garage was fully engulfed in flames. The fire had already spread to two nearby split-level homes, each measuring 25 by 50 feet.
The incident commander quickly called for a box alarm to bring in additional personnel and resources. It took roughly 30 minutes to get the situation under control, during which time firefighters used four handlines to battle the blaze. The collaborative efforts of multiple teams were crucial in preventing further damage to the surrounding structures.
I managed to capture some photos from the scene. These images really capture the intensity of the situation and the dedication of the firefighters who worked tirelessly to extinguish the flames and ensure everyone's safety.
[Attached are several photos showing firefighters in action, the aftermath of the fire, and crews conducting overhaul operations.]
These images provide a glimpse into the chaos and hard work that unfolded that night. The firefighters did an incredible job managing such a challenging situation, and these photos tell part of their story.
