Hino Heavy Trucks GAC Bus Qi Ming Liang GAC Commercial Vehicles Clearly Layoutd

On November 25, the 6th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition concluded, marking a significant event in the automotive industry. GAC Group made a strong impression with its commercial vehicle lineup, showcasing eight models—four trucks and four passenger cars—that highlighted its growing presence in the commercial vehicle sector. This display became one of the key attractions in the Guangzhou Auto Show’s commercial vehicle section. GAC Group has been actively integrating its commercial vehicle operations, with GAC Hino Motor Co., Ltd. focusing on the Hino brand, and GAC Bus handling its own brand. The company operates two production bases in Guangzhou and Shenyang, and several of the vehicles displayed at the exhibition reflected this ongoing integration strategy. One of the major highlights was the HINO 700 series heavy truck, which GAC Hino emphasized as a flagship model. According to representatives from GAC Hino, the exhibition only featured the tractor version, but future launches will include various special vehicles tailored for different customer needs. Notably, the HINO 700 model is currently imported into China, but the company plans to introduce locally produced versions next year, ensuring competitive pricing without compromising performance. In addition to heavy trucks, GAC Hino also showcased the 270Y and 300J series light trucks, designed to meet the growing demand in South China's logistics sector. These models are part of a broader strategy to expand market share across different load capacities. GAC Hino also presented diesel engines, including the P11C and E13C series, with an annual production target of 20,000 heavy trucks and 30,000 light trucks. The company aims to increase localization by sourcing key components from domestic suppliers, reducing costs and improving efficiency. On the passenger vehicle side, GAC Hino introduced a hybrid model, signaling its interest in the new energy vehicle market. Both Guangzhou and Shenyang are seen as key markets for future growth. GAC Bus, established in September 2024 through the merger of Yuelong and Denway, now offers a wide range of buses, from 6 to 12 meters, under the "Guangzhou Automobile" brand. At the exhibition, GAC Bus showcased a LPG gas-electric hybrid bus, which is the first of its kind in China. With over 6,430 LPG buses already in operation in Guangzhou, the hybrid model aims to reduce operating costs and improve sustainability. The company is also investing heavily in R&D, planning to allocate over 10 million yuan for technology upgrades and process improvements. This focus on innovation underscores GAC Bus's commitment to staying competitive in the evolving transportation market. Overall, GAC Group continues to strengthen its position in both commercial and passenger vehicle segments, leveraging partnerships, local production, and technological advancements to meet the demands of a dynamic market.
