This evening around 8:50 PM, a serious three-car accident occurred on Milwaukee Avenue in Lincolnshire, leaving four individuals injured. According to initial reports, a Honda CRV was seen speeding southbound in the northbound lanes of Milwaukee Avenue when it collided with two other vehicles. One eyewitness described the vehicle as traveling recklessly and at an alarming speed.
The impact was so severe that emergency responders had to use specialized tools to extricate a passenger from one of the affected vehicles. Lincolnshire's entire emergency response team, including all three ambulances, was dispatched to the scene. Additional support was called in from neighboring Long Grove due to the severity of the incident.
Larry Shapiro, who arrived shortly after the incident, captured several photos of the aftermath. His images show significant damage to the vehicles involved, particularly to a Jeep SUV and a sedan that were struck while traveling northbound. The driver of the CRV reportedly struck street signs on Half Day Road earlier in the evening before heading onto Milwaukee Avenue.
According to police reports, the reckless driver passed a Lincolnshire police officer near Aptakisic Road before colliding with the two other vehicles. One individual remains in critical condition, while the others sustained varying degrees of injury. All parties involved were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District personnel were quick to arrive and assess the situation. Photos taken by Shapiro also highlight the extensive efforts made by first responders to ensure everyone’s safety, including setting up a light tower to illuminate the crash site during rescue operations.
