The China National Petrochemical Materials and Equipment Department presided over the development of the localization research and development of the 600,000-ton ethylene cracker gas compressor, recently held in Maoming Petrochemical. More than 30 experts from the departments of scientific research, manufacturing, and production conducted an on-site inspection of the first 600,000-ton-class cracked gas compressors in China and considered this a successful precedent for localization of large-scale ethylene equipment. The experience should be summarized. On the basis of insufficient reforms, we will accelerate the pace of development and application.
Maoming Petrochemical's 1 million-ton ethylene renovation and expansion project built a new 640,000-ton/year ethylene cracker. The first batch of large-scale ethylene was first introduced. Among the 510 equipment installed, 448 were manufactured domestically, and the localization rate of equipment was 87.8%. Its core equipment is a 600,000-ton ethylene cracker compressor manufactured by Shenyang Blower Group. In the past, these key equipments all depended on imports. In spite of accelerating the pace of localization in recent years, they have only achieved localization on 240,000-360,000-ton units, and larger-scale units still need to be imported. In order to promote the localization of petrochemical large-scale equipment, Sinopec decided to use domestically produced 600,000-ton cracking gas compressors for the first time in the new 640,000-ton/year ethylene plant in Maoming to fill the gap in localization of this heavy equipment. The compressor unit arrived in Maoming Petrochemical in February this year and was completed and put into operation in September. As of now, the operation status is good, and various technical indicators such as vibration value have reached the design requirements.
The domesticization of large-scale compressors can not only save investment by more than 30%, but also provide more convenient and thoughtful technical services. It is reported that on the basis of improvement and improvement, Sinopec will continue to use domestic large-scale cracking gas compressors in Zhenhai Refinery and Tianjin Petrochemical's 1 million tons ethylene project.
