The HSS steam-treated blades are produced in HSS grade M2 (DIN 1.3343). This is the most common surface treatment for circular saw blades, involving controlled oxidation to form an iron oxide layer (Fe3O4) on the blade surface, enhancing its self-lubricating properties. It is suitable for general cutting applications, excluding aluminum, copper, and their alloys due to chemical incompatibility.
