The first fully automated heavy-duty stamping production line is put into use

ABB recently announced the successful commissioning of China's first large-scale robot automated stamping production line in Jinan, marking a significant milestone in the country's heavy truck manufacturing sector. This advanced production line has now officially gone into operation, representing a major technological breakthrough that significantly enhances the overall efficiency and quality of vehicle manufacturing in China. The automated stamping line incorporates seven ABB press-specific robots and integrates cutting-edge technologies such as ABB's advanced press centering system and full-line monitoring system—both introduced for the first time in China. These innovations have transformed traditional manual operations into fully automated processes, leading to a substantial increase in production efficiency, improved product quality stability, and a lower rate of defective items. The line is primarily designed to produce the next-generation HOWO-A7 heavy-duty trucks, which are known for their advanced technology and high-quality standards. As the flagship model of Sinotruk in 2009, the HOWO-A7 will also be exported to international markets.
